The world's largest semiconductor company said it earned $1.6 billion, or 28 cents a share in the second quarter on sales of $9.47 billion, against a profit of 22 cents a share on sales of $8.68 billion last year.
INTC was seen turning in a profit of 25 cents a share on sales of $9.319 billion, according to a consensus estimate compiled by Thomson Reuters.
